We had a fantastic kickoff to the summer with our pool opening on May 18. One of our own, Kendrick Dean, is a professional photographer and came by to document the event. Check out the pictures here.

With the heat kicking up, the pool has become a popular attraction. Whether you're at the Stonewall Manor pool or out and about, it's important to keep water safety in mind. Here's a few helpful reminders to keep you and your family safe in the water this summer:
  • Arm's Reach, Eye's Reach: Children from birth to 6 years old should be within arm’s reach of a caregiver. Older, proficient swimmers should be within eye’s reach.
  • Don’t rely on fun toys such as water wings or noodles to keep your children safe. If your child can’t swim, fit them with an appropriate personal flotation device.
  • Have these items close by at all times when you or your family are using a pool or spa: portable telephone, first aid kit, flotation device.
  • If a child is missing, look for him or her in the pool or spa first.
  • Share safety instructions with family, friends, and neighbors.
  • Learn how to swim and teach your child how to swim.
  • Learn to perform CPR on children and adults, and update those skills regularly.
